The
Aleratec 1:5 HDD Cruiser The Aleratec 1:5 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA is a powerful, standalone hard drive duplicator that can create five clone hard drives simultaneously.
It can also securely wipe all the data from up to six hard disk drives at a time with Secure Erase or your choice of three comprehensive sanitization algorithms: a one-pass wipe, a three-pass wipe with verify, or a powerful seven-pass wipe as recommended by the Department of Defense 5220.22-M specification.
The unit is compatible with 3.5" internal IDE and SATA hard disk drives, as well as 2.5" SATA drives. It can also accommodate 2.5” internal IDE drives with Aleratec adapters (part number 350116), not included. For the ultimate in flexibility, the unit can copy from either a SATA or an IDE source drive to any combination of SATA and IDE targets.

The Aleratec HDD Cruiser provides 3
options for sanitizing hard disc drives, each providing a more advanced level of
security:

One pass data overwrite is to write zeroes to
every block on the hard drive.

Three pass data overwrite writes one pass of
zeros, one pass of 1s and one pass of a randomly generated pattern to every
block on the hard drive. You have the option to verify the random pattern to
provide assurance that the overwrite was completed.

Seven pass DoD 5220.22-M has been derived from
the Department of Defense 5220.22-M standard for secure overwriting of hard disk
drive. After the overwrite process the hard drives appear to a computer as new
drives without initialization or formatting.
The 1:5 HDD Cruiser's drive bays are equipped with quick and easy
loading doors. Simply open the drive bay door to load or unload a drive. Slide
the drive in the drive bay and close the drive bay door and high integrity
electrical and data connections are made automatically. Each drive bay has Non
Scratch SATA connectors designed for greater than 50,000 swap cycles minimizing
worries about drive connection issues.
